Biodiesel is
a cleaner-burning, renewable fuel for diesel engines derived from vegetable
oils instead of petroleum. Since biodiesel is made from home-grown, American
products like soybean oil and recycled restaurant grease, using biodiesel
strengthens our domestic economy and increases our energy independence.
Biodiesel can be used as a pure fuel, referred to as B100, or it can be
blended with petroleum diesel at any percentage. The most common blend is
B20 (20% biodiesel, 80% petroleum diesel). Biodiesel is simple to use,
biodegradable and nontoxic.
Biodiesel for Fleets
The
Energy Cooperative
serves many regional commercial and municipal biodiesel fleets, including
the Philadelphia Eagles, Great Valley School District, the Philadelphia Zoo,
and the City of Philadelphia. We are
a full service, licensed Class I Distributor in Pennsylvania and can supply
biodiesel at any blend level.
Our customers benefit from
industry-leading biodiesel expertise coupled with attentive customer service
and local knowledge, especially about funding opportunities. Call our
office today at 215-413-2122 to find out how easy it can be to switch your
fleet to biodiesel.
Biodiesel for Individual Vehicles
The Energy
Cooperative has received a lot of interest from individuals
who want to purchase small amounts of fuel for their own personal use. We
cannot serve these accounts quite yet, but we are working on it. The problem
is that using the model for fleet delivery, the freight cost is the same
whether you order 3,000 gallons or only 3 gallons, which makes the cost for
small deliveries just too expensive. However, there are several service
stations that offer biodiesel. The busier these stations are, the greater
the likelihood of more stations offering biodiesel. Please click
here for a list of
retail locations in Pennsylvania.
Send us an email at

you would like
to be notified when small deliveries through The Energy
Cooperative are available. Be sure to include your name and zip code in your
email.
