Dennis Winters, Board Secretary/Treasurer
Representing: Class B Residential Members
Dennis R. Winters joined the Energy Cooperative Board in September 2001.
Winters serves as Coordinator of the Greater Philadelphia Clean
Cities Program.
Previously, Winters served as Coordinator of the Philadelphia Million Solar
Roofs Partnership and as Deputy Director of the Clean Air Council with responsibility
for managing the group’s
sustainable transportation program. He is also a mayoral appointee to the
Citizens Advisory Committee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation
Authority (SEPTA), has chaired the Regional Citizens Committee of the
Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), and has served under
two governors on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee of the Pennsylvania
Department of Environmental Protection.
Winters serves on the Board of Directors of the East Coast Greenway
Alliance, the Bicycle Coalition of the Delaware Valley, and Neighborhood
Bike Works. He also serves as Secretary for all three organizations.
Winters has been a public interest advocate on good-government and environmental
matters for over 30 years, both as a volunteer and a professional. Formerly
he served as a Regional Conservation Associate of the Sierra Club for the
northeastern United States, and as the Director of the Southeastern
Pennsylvania Group of the Sierra Club.
