Solar power is widely recognized as one of the cleanest ways to generate
electricity. And contrary to popular belief, solar power works quite well in
the Philadelphia area where we get as much as 70% of the solar radiation of
very sunny places like Tucson.
And
solar works best just when electricity is in highest demand – during hot,
sunny weather.
The Energy Cooperative is proud to be the first electric supplier in the
country to buy its members’ solar power. Our goal is to change the economics
of solar power. Under this program the payback time for a typical
photovoltaic (PV) system
can be reduced by as much as 30%.
Unfortunately, we're
not currently accepting any new members into our solar buy-back program, but
keep checking back as we may start taking people off our the wait list in
2010. To get your name added to the wait list as a potential provider
